Dr. Nowland received her DVM from Texas A&M University in College Station and became a diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in 2001. In addition to her emergency work, Dr. Nowland is the co-owner and founder of two small animal hospitals located in San Marcos and Kyle, Texas. She serves on the Board of Directors for Point Rider, an organization that builds and endows housing for adults with intellectual disabilities. Dr. Nowland also has a special interest in the human-animal bond and has been a registered Pet Partners Therapy Team member since 2012.
