Dr. Lachlan Bannister was born and raised in Australia. He grew up on the east coast of Australia in the same suburb as the popular cartoon character ‘Bluey’. He attended The University of Queensland in Australia and completed a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with honors in 2023. He then went on to train in a small animal emergency and critical care internship at an Animal Emergency Australia hospital. Always drawn to the advanced level of medicine practised in the United States, he moved to Texas and is excited to have joined the CTVSEH emergency medicine team. Outside of work Dr. Bannister is completing a master’s degree in epidemiology and a graduate degree in emergency and critical care medicine. Whilst at university, he developed an interest in amateur astronomy which continues through to today.

Dr. Gates is originally from the Detroit area, but grew up in the Rio Grande Valley. Prior to graduating from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Gates worked in the veterinary field as a technician for over 10 years.  In her off time, she enjoys gardening, cooking, watching movies, going to concerts, and spending time with her husband and their 2 dogs, August and Dublin.
